For those of us who do not have children and don't get home from work until after the Trick or Treating time span has passed, we are probably (sadly) without candy. Never fear, I will knock you over with nostalgia and sugar in one KO punch. Rice. Krispies. Treats.
I haven't made these since my mom "helped" me by smooshing my tiny hand down in the pan to even out the layer of treats. Even back then, I remember thinking that it was easy yet super gross.
Total Time: 30 minutes
3 tablespoons butter
1 package (10 ounces, about 40) regular marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies
In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
Add Rice Krispies. Stir until well coated.
Using buttered spatula or wax paper (or your hand) evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.
