Do you like burgers? Are you even slightly interested in burgers? Then it's time to get to DMK Burger Bar. My feeling toward burgers is lukewarm ambivalence, and I thought this Lakeview burger/fries/shake joint was fun, welcoming, and served some really good food. I can only imagine what my dad thought when he specifically requested a burger for lunch on his birthday.
While my mom and I ordered some Cokes/Diet Cokes to drink, Husband and Dad splurged a little (a lot) with peanut butter milkshakes. Husband let me have spoonful (far too thick to sip), and oh my, like a liquid Reese's!
The menu is mostly burgers, all named by number. 1-8 are beef burgers and 9-14 are other types of meat and non-meat options. The birthday boy picked the biggest burger on the menu, #7 (The Big DMK), which is like a Big Mac, but from what I gathered, way way better.
Husband's badgering the server for suggestions resulted in #4, which included green chiles, bacon, jack cheese, and *boom* a fried egg.
Mom had a turkey burger (#10) with arugula, swiss, tomato, and dijonnaise.
And, yes. I had a veggie burger (#12). It was billed as "the best damn veggie burger to ever hit your lips." Deal with it. It was awesome.
Our table also split some way-too-good fries, sweet potato with garlic aioli and parmesan cheese with truffle cream.
Alright, folks. I'll stop making you drool now so you can head out to DMK and get one of these burgers for yourself.
