My cousin Rachel residing in the fair city of Denver is in the midst of a challenging 28-day project called GULP (Give Up Life's Pleasures). She is obviously a stronger person than me, and I'll quote her on the purpose and scope of the project:
...for 28 days I will limit the food I eat to the following ingredients.
Beans, Nuts, Apples, Yogurt, Eggs, Lemons, Spinach, Carrots, Potatoes
using only the following "condiments"
Olive oil, Salt, Pepper, Curry Powder, Honey
and I will only drink
Water
WHY you ask?
to consciously, purposefully and intentionally consume less
so that I may give back to organizations that are helping the people in my city
to connect in a meaningful and intense way with a few food ingredients
Check out her blog (updated daily!) and support her in this venture. I'll go eat a cupcake now and feel disappointed in myself.
Rachel says, "I can make it 28 days and make a big difference!"
Foodie Wannabe says, "Huh? Yes, you ARE awesome, and I will direct my three blog readers to your blog. Go Rachel!"
These photos were taken at our last family reunion August 2009 in Saugtatuk, Michigan and in no way endorse the views of the stakeholders of this blog or any other blogging subsidiaries. Mostly, because I'm not wearing makeup.

Awesome! Thanks Liz. See my post about your post about my posts here. http://racheletto.blogspot.com/2010/01/gulp-gets-another-shoutout.html and be sure to vote!!
